Susan Myburgh is a New York and Atlanta based actor and educator by way of Cape Town, South Africa. Her film and television work include a recurring role on Chicago Fire (NBC), 1923 (Paramount+), Yellow Rose (SONY Pictures), Rooster Teeth shorts, and various independent films including Blur, which was featured on DarkMatter TV and for which she received a best actress nomination. On stage she has worked with Rattlestick, The Brick, Chicago Shakespeare, Austin Shakespeare, Red Twist, and Theater en Bloc, among others. She received a B. Iden Payne nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal of Sofia in the Southeast premiere of Clare Barron's Dance Nation. She has also appeared in various commercials for brands like Chase, Lowe’s, Facebook, NAPA, and Cox Communications. Susan has been an educator and Teaching Artist for The Florida State University, UT Austin, Brooklyn College, Great Works Theater in Chicago, and Endstation Theatre in Virginia, where she also directed their inaugural children’s theater production, Alice in Wonderland. She is a proud member of The National Alliance of Acting Teachers and VASTA. She holds her MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College where she was a Graduate Teaching Fellow, Shubert Scholar and the recipient of the Paul and Betsy Mazursky and USS CUNY Scholarships and where she currently serves as faculty and Artistic Associate.
